2015/16
This was an 18 month contract to select and train candidates from the Botswana Defence Force to feed into Botswana’s Special Forces unit.
Each selection course was 4 months long, after which the successful candidates were handed over to the Counter Terrorist Training Team for a further 6 months.
100 individuals were fed into the unit, creating three squadrons. The continuation training was headed by Simon and focussed on advanced patrolling, navigation, live firing ranges and tracking. In addition, the unit’s facilities, kit and equipment and unit structure were greatly improved with the end result being one of the most potent SF units in Africa.
